Manchester let down by New Labour and Gordon Brown

Yet again, Manchester has been let down by Gordon Brown. Manchester spent £240,000 on the bid to win the £300m regeneration package, but Brown has now said No. Local MP, Hazel Blears has completely failed to offer new alternatives, just more renouncement’s, more spin. When will New Labour stop promising to people and start delivering?  This is yet another example of Labour letting Manchester down.

Whilst it is clearly disappointing for East Manchester that the government have shelved the Casino plan, you can hardly claim the Conservatives were championing the issue!

I have no strong feelings on the issue either way. I really hope that Manchester city council do pursue this further, with a positive outcome for the people of East Manchester.

I think it is indicative however of how Manchester is yet again let down by New Labour. If only Gordon Brown and Hazel Blears could deliver anywhere near what they promise! 10 years of broken promises.
